There are many reasons why someone would choose to use home track lighting in their residential. You can also aim it towards particular seating areas, perhaps where you like to read a good book. Home track lighting has a contemporary design that works well with newer homes. If you have an older home and are looking to add additional lighting, then residential track lighting is a great choice. All you need is an existing electrical box in the ceiling. The track attaches to the ceiling and the wiring runs down to it. Its a perfect choice for someone looking to update an old kitchen. All you need to do is remove the old light fixture, maybe some cosmetic repair to the ceiling if the previous hole was larger than is necessary for the track lighting, then mount the new track lighting. It is so easy to do it yourself, that is why track lighting is one of the most common forms of lighting that people use in their home when making changes.

You can find home track lighting at your local home improvement store or lighting specialty store. If you buy your track lighting as components as opposed to a set, be sure to buy all parts from the same manufacturer as the pieces are typically not interchangeable. Prices can range from a few dollars for the track components and $15 or so for the light fixtures to over $500 for a set of track lights. Price varies on styles and finishes. Many people prefer the brushed nickel finish but white is still very popular as well. You can also find then in black or bronze. The brushed nickel with frosted glass pendulum lights are my favorite design.

The only time you don’t want to use track lighting is if you have very low ceilings since they do hang down or you don’t like the contemporary look that it has to offer. You should also never use home track lighting as your only means of light in a room. Track lighting fixture is a specialized lighting that offer accent lighting and isn’t meant to do your sole source of light.
